An extremely interesting little sentimental piece, late Georgian in date, in the form of a wide clasp with a charming and lovely sepia artwork under a slightly curved glass - the tiniest little vine with flowers extends on either side of a central laurel decoration, with a little monogram inside that may be two letters like F&F intertwined or possibly an H, it's difficult to read.
The clasp is still in full working order and could be reused in a bracelet or choker - it has ten holes drilled on each side, so easy to string on some pearls for example, and not all holes need to be used.
The metal is a little difficult to test as clasps like this have so many joins, but we think the main part of the clasp appears to be solid gold of around 9K and the scalloped sides are gold cased.
