These beautiful little Victorian gold snakes, c1870, appear to coil around the central carved malachite stones. The snakes' little tails form the loops through which the ear wires thread, and their tiny heads have the most detailed, cute little faces which appear to peek out inquisitivelyon scaly engraved necks - each one has been individually hand-crafted and has its own personality!

Probably originally used as buttons/studs, they still have the beautiful original backs with scalloped and flower-engraved discs which stand slightly proud, a pretty finishing touch.

The stones are a lovely banded mixture of light and dark green typical of malachite. The coiled snakes tests as ~14K gold, the engraved backs and wires as ~9K.

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 1/2" diameter across the drops, not including wiggly tails or heads. 4.5g in weight together.

CONDITION: Good, wearable antique condition - please view all close-up photos. Any display chains/boxes used are shown for photography purposes only.
