This unusual, sparkling fellow is such a beautiful, rich shade of green! Dating to c1900 - 1910, made in solid silver (stamps underneath & tested), and generously set with rose-cut green pastes to the shell, head and legs. Little red paste eyes too, and a 9K gold top hanging loop.
This came to us in a lot of three antique turtle/tortoise pieces, probably collected by someone - the others are coming soon! We think it looks slightly more turtle-like with that little curly tail and splayed feet but it's hard to tell.
MEASUREMENTS: Just over 1 3/4" nose to tail, not including top loops. Solid and not hollow in construction, 17.9g in weight.
CONDITION: Good, wearable antique condition with a few little chips/abrasions to the stones, not noticeable in wear. Please view all close-up photos. Any display boxes/chains are shown for photography purposes only.
