The delightful, unusual scallop shell design on this hallmarked 9K gold padlock immediately catches the eye! It appears Victorian in construction but the date letter is sadly illegible, the typeface of the maker's mark appears later than Victorian but it definitely has good age to it.
 
The central summery shell design is surrounded by further embossed detail and little forget-me-not flowers. To the top centre is a little loop for a safety chain to pass through if desired, when worn as a bracelet or necklace clasp.
 
MEASUREMENTS: 1 1/4" top to bottom. 3.7g in weight.
