What an unusual and stylish Victorian padlock, and a lovely size too! 
 
Carved from natural Whitby jet, it is embellished with 9K gold details. The lovely little oval lock compartment to the front is surrounded by a gold frame engraved with delicate leaves and flowers. The top clasp arm is also 9K gold. 
 
Smoothly carved into an elegant gothic shape, with care also taken to make the rear side attractive.
Wonderful presence in wear.
 
MEASUREMENTS: 1 5/8" top to bottom including clasp arm. 5.4g in weight.
 
CONDITION: Good, wearable antique condition with a few little chips to the jet (one near the hinge and a couple to the 'points' of the carving), not noticeable in wear but can be seen on inspection - please view all close-up photos. Any display boxes/chains are shown for photography purposes only.
